O critério principal foi ir além da mera ruindade. Por isso, ficaram fora da minha lista filmes reconhecidamente ruins tais como Armageddon, Batman & Robin-1997, A Gostosa e a Gosmenta, Gigli, Who's Your Caddy, Bem & Arthur, etc. Assim, imbuído da intenção foi peneirar pela tosquice e a bizarrice das produções, colhida da lista dos 100 piores do IMDb, enquanto outros frequentam outras listas, mas todos eles receberam a unânime avaliação de piores de todos os tempos.

1) Plano 9 do Espaço Sideral (Plan 9 From Outer Space) – Ficção Científica (1959).
Um filme do gênero trash, filmado em poucas semanas com baixíssimo orçamento. É um daqueles filmes que de tão ruim, se tornou Cult, pois passou a ser aclamado como um dos piores filmes de todos os tempos. O diretor Ed Wood nunca chegou a vivenciar a anti-fama do seu anti-filme, por ter morrido antes. Não obstante, ele considerava o Plano 9 como sua obra prima, tida por ele como o seu Cidadão Kane pessoal. O roteiro aborda alienígenas que ressuscitam os mortos, usando um mecanismo chamado Plano 9, com o objetivo de dominar os vivos, mas com um objetivo nobre: evitar a destruição do sistema solar pela bomba Solobonite, que seria desenvolvida pela humanidade num futuro próximo. Se os humanos não fossem detidos, ameaçariam todos os planetas civilizados.

2) The Beast of Yucca Flats - Horror (1961).

A história se passa em Marte, onde o Rei Marciano está preocupado com seus filhos que vêem muita televisão terráquea. Até que elas vêem uma entrevista do Papai Noel, onde ele apresenta a sua fábrica de brinquedos no Pólo Norte. Um oráculo marciano alerta que as crianças de Marte estão com seu futuro ameaçado porque eles não brincam, já que as brincadeiras e a educação são transmitidas através de máquinas. Então, a única saída é conceder liberdade de expressão às crianças e para tanto, eles capturam o Papai Noel e o levam para Marte, para que ele fabrique os brinquedos que vão mudar o destino do mundo infantil daquele planeta. Felizmente o Papai Noel se salvou e o filme ficou na terra para que tomássemos contato com um dos piores filmes de todos os tempos.

4) As Mãos do Destino (Manos: The Hands of Fate)– Horror (1966).
Se não é o pior filme do universo, pelo menos, deve ter sido o mais barato e o que tem mais cortes. O Manos foi o resultado de uma aposta entre o produtor e o roteirista sobre a possibilidade de se fazer um filme de horror com um magro orçamento de dezenove mil dólares. A tosquice é que no filme foi usada uma câmera de 16mm, operada manualmente e que só podia carregar rolos de filmes de 32 segundos. Isto levou a uma edição bizarra e incomum, com cortes de cena realizados em freqüência absurda. O som somente foi dublado no final, não pelos atores originais, mas por 2 ou 3 dubladores, que chegou ao absurdo do produtor Warren ter dublado simultaneamente um policial e personagem com quem ele conversa.

5) O Ataque dos Tomates Assassinos (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes) - Ficção Científica (1978).
Quem não conhece este filme, verdadeiramente ainda não bebeu nas entranhas sanguinolentas de um dos piores filmes Trash de todos os tempos. Ele trata de horror, de pessoas sendo atacadas... hilariamente por tomates. As resenhas são unânimes em apontar a famosa cena inicial, em que uma dona de casa é atacada por tomates ao som da trilha sonora, composta de uma falsa propaganda publicitária.
